TNB Research was establish in 1993 as a department in TNB, and evolved into a subsidiary. It is now an independent,not for profit centre for energy and environmental
research. In 1997, TNBR received approval by MIDA as an R&D status company and became eligible for many governmental incentives.
TNBR's function as an R&D organisation has also changed since the early years. Today, TNBR is focused on conducting R&D that adds value and are aligned to TNB corporate needs as well as national aspirations.
TNBR is now well equipped with an R&D centre and a strong head-count of 185 people consisting of researchers,technical experts and support staff. Most of its staff are well educated with Masters and Doctorate qualifications. In addition, TNBR has a young and dynamic workforce with more than 60% of our staff between the ages of 26 - 35 years. This enables it to be responsiveand innovative. |
